Pleasure Doing Business… with mini skirts

A wardrobe isn’t complete without the perfect mini skirt or several
. It can be quite difficult finding this perfect piece especially since mini skirts can very easily get into trashy territory… too short/bad quality combo is just bad news bears. Luckily, Pleasure Doing Business is a reasonably priced good quality label that offers the possibility of a pretty much perfect mini skirt. They’re simple and classy!!
You can always dress up or down any skirt but a simple tee looks particularly good with these minis… I love to pair simple and dressy pieces together. I’ve found the blue and pinstripe minis to be my favorites and the most versatile. If you don’t have that perfect mini skirt definitely check out PDB’s line!

Men’s Spring 2010 Trend: Gun Show

For all you guys who are always looking for a chance to show off a little bit of skin and hours spent in the gym… it’s your time to shine in the fashion world… well that is not until spring 2010. So skinny minis have some time to hit the weights.
The bare arm look goes along with the reoccurring rebellious and edgy themes seen in Spring 2010 Men’s Collections. I am a fan of urban-inspired clothing but I’m not sure how I feel about this particular look since I’ve always thought a somewhat concealed toughness is more much enticing. If you’ve really got something then there’s no need to flaunt it.

G-STAR RAW Denims and Spring 2010 Collections
G-STAR RAW: soft and hard all in one

G-STAR RAW is a high-quality men’s and women’s label that I accidently found out/became an instant fan of about 4 years ago when shopping at a downtown Iowa City boutique. I was looking to buy a pair of boots when instead I ended up buying a G-Star jacket that I wear to this day. It was the one and only G-Star item that the boutique was selling… I found hidden treasure for sure. It’s a dark grey light jacket that’s simple yet distinct and can be paired with any type of outfit… hard combination to find that G-Star’s structured military inspired clothing masters.
G-Star is most famous for their RAW (untreated/unwashed) denim collections, but I particularly like their fitted coats and blazers for men and women. I love to pair soft and hard pieces together and this look comes so naturally with G-Star clothes. The runway pictures above are some of my favorite looks from their spring 2010 collection.
check out some of their collection online at G-star.com
G-Star stores are only in a few select cities such as Chicago, LA, and NY but many websites and various stores sell G-Star items… all this info is on the website. Hope you all enjoy G-STAR RAW as much as I do…

Alexander Wang Runway Highlights – Fashion Week: Spring 2010
Style is Forever…
Spring 2010 trends including 80’s remix (I see a Michael Jackson theme going on) and strong shoulders have been strutting down the runway for fashion week in New York (Sept 10th – 17th). Clearly the recession is a factor but it’s quite refreshing to see more investment type (simple/classic) pieces among the “trendy” in many spring 2010 collections. Alexander Wang has always been one of my favorite designers because of his “nonchalant cool” style. I especially liked the white cutout dress (approx 35 seconds into video) it’s very french chic… simple with an edge.
Trendy looks can be fun and fabulous but style comes from making your own rules… not just following the season’s latest looks. If you don’t want to end up looking like everyone else you have to add authentic touches to trends in order to own your look. Just as most things change leaving only the real thing… genuine style is forever.
