Style is Forever…

Spring 2010 trends including 80’s remix (I see a Michael Jackson theme going on) and strong shoulders have been strutting down the runway for fashion week in New York (Sept 10^th – 17^th).  Clearly the recession is a factor but it’s quite refreshing to see more investment type (simple/classic) pieces among the “trendy” in many spring 2010 collections. Alexander Wang has always been one of my favorite designers because of his “nonchalant cool” style.  I especially liked the white cutout dress (approx 35 seconds into video) it’s very french chic… simple with an edge.

Trendy looks can be fun and fabulous but style comes from making your own rules… not just following the season’s latest looks.  If you don’t want to end up looking like everyone else you have to add authentic touches to trends in order to own your look. Just as most things change leaving only the real thing… genuine style is forever.
